Baguio City (Mar. 26)—The people of Baguio observed Black Saturday with fluvial parade at the Burnham Lake as part of the Kafaguay Summerbest 2005. Boats were designed and decorated with colorful and beautiful flowers that catch the attention of the viewers.
“This is still part of the Panagbenga or Flower Festival celebration to provide more activities for our visitors,” Mayor Braulio Yaranon said in an interview.
Different personalities, organizations and institutions expressed support and joined the said activity with their respective motifs. Among the more creative floats include those inspired by Japanese, Cordillera, and Katipunero influences.
Miss Teen Philippines 2005 Baguio representative Kylene Pineda joined the said parade.
Local residents said only a few visitors who joined the celebration last February due to meningococcemia scare.
