Poetry: I’m no longer frail

I were once like a frail butterfly
Trying to spread my wings in the midst of war
But I am weak and alone
Hopeless and have no courage to fight
The oppressor that kills my land.

With my determination to get back
From the lifeless place I drowned
My wings forcedly to spread out
And slowly stand with might on the land
Where blood colored the ground.

I can not fight alone
I join my comrades and together we rise
Hand in hand we fight
We consolidate and solidify our defense
Against the greedy invader of our beloved land.

But now I am no longer frail and afraid
With my comrades I earned the courage
My wings freely move
And become my shield and weapon as well
In the fight where the victory is ours.

I share you this
The land is our life
A home where comrades are loved
Where there is food and there is growth
Thus we fight for it and never abandon.

Spread your wings
With courage you stand and fight
Don’t let the land be invaded
There is nothing to worry
We are with you and together we fight.# nordis.net
