Abra hired killer captured

BAGUIO CITY (July 9) — A hired goon suspected by authorities to have gunned down an Abra town politician fell to police on Friday.

The hired killer allegedly gunned down Marvin dela Pena, a councilor of Villaviciosa town also in Abra on January this year.

David Agcalao Sagudang, 24, alias Battateng of Zone 5, Bangued, Abra was collared on Friday morning inside his house by government operatives led by Abra-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) team leader Inspector Jerry Fernandez.

Fernandez and his men were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Corpuz Alzate, of Branch 2, Regional Trial Court for murder.

Bolabola said they carefully followed the case of the councilor’s killing.  A witness of the killing helped a lot in the “air-tight” case against the killer and while the warrant of arrest was sought by the CIDG, the suspect had been tailed, according to the CIDG chief. # Ace Alegre for NORDIS
