Kalinga peasant missing

BAGUIO CITY (July 1) — A Kalinga peasant remains missing and feared abducted by still unidentified armed forces after he and his wife escaped a strafing incident on the night of June 30 in Limos, Pinukpok, Kalinga.

According to a reliable source, Orlando Awingan, 60, a farmer and an active member of the Timpuyog dagiti Mannalon ti Kalinga (TMK) a local peasant organization failed to contact his kin since the strafing on his farm hut happened.

Nordis learned that Orlando and his wife Petrona, 55, were in their farm hut on June 30 when at around 11:00 PM unidentified men fired at the hut. The duo crawled to safety and unfortunately while escaping the attack, they parted ways. Orlando was not seen since then.

Orlando’s kin are still looking for him as of press time. # Kim Quitasol for NORDIS
