Housing board revamped

BAGUIO CITY (Dec. 9) — Mayor Braulio Yaranon has reconstituted the City Housing and Urban Development Board to take charge of implementing housing policies and programs.

Yaranon will spearhead the body, together with housing council committee chairperson Faustino Olowan as vice chairperson and action officer.

In Administrative Order No. 272, Yaranon also stated the specific function of the board to ensure more effective implementation of the housing programs pursuant to section 39 of Republic Act No. 7279 or the Urban Development and Housing Act of 1992.

The board was first created in 1998 by then mayor Mauricio Domogan.

The Special Committee on Socialized Housing Project of the city, which the mayor created earlier by virtue of Administrative Order No. 144, will form part of the order as a sub-committee. # Aileen P. Refuerzo/PIO

Yaranon expands asin hydro task force

BAGUIO CITY (Dec. 9) — Mayor Braulio Yaranon issued administrative order no. 295 expanding the membership of the Asin Hydro Task Force created under an earlier administrative ordinance.

The latest measure includes newly-appointed City Administrator Peter Fianza as the task force co-chairperson and Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) General Manager Gerardo Verzosa as member.

The Mayor earlier issued administrative order no. 122 creating the composition of the Asin Hydro Task Force “in view of the need to conduct an extensive technical, financial and socio-economic study to ascertain the best alternative for the city in the proper administration and management of the Asin Hydro Electric Plant that will guide stakeholders in their decisions.”

Members include all the city councilors, city building and architecture office head Oscar Flores, city engineer Leo Bernardez, city planning chief Arturo Orig, city accountant Antonio Tabin and Verzosa. #Gaby B. Keith/PIO

The commission has action officer partners in every department and agency where complaints against employees or unsatisfactory service may be filed for speedy resolution.
