Marney’s shot is from the Master’s touch... giver of gifts

From the City of Pines and valley of strawberries, Marney, Baguio-based photography artist born in Quezon City conducts hands-on photography and art therapy workshop of Brent students, various teachers, professional & NGO groups, religious seminarians, and her very own community Ang Lingkod Ng Panginoon - such best shots began in the many mission-travel exposures (Cebu, Mindoro, Cagayan de Oro & Zamboanga) around the country and an educational visit at Tokyo, Japan few years ago. Or in ordinariness, she perceives clever thoughts to continue on her own pieces with enthusiasm at their family-owned gallery, Arko Ni Apo Art Gallery. The deep appreciation of every nature-spot inspired her to be serious in photography; of course the richness of Baguio City adds up to such passion until such best shots began to be noticed positively during the emerging Baguio Women’s’ Visual Artists First Group Art Show last April at Maryknoll Sanctuary . . .

Ever since Marney had lived in Baguio each nature-creatures were her means to correlate of God’s goodness and perceive each individual’s beauty until most of her subject-composition in photography and pastel-paintings were nature, the co-existence of human . . . being in the formation of a two religious congregation for almost six years which is grace-filled - she boasted that a gratitude in the heart, they are the instruments of where she is now, thus, inspired her to see thru God’s goodness thru the “real world” outside cloistered and structured life, she added that the status or wearing veil is insignificant if the “being” a true person does not exudes in integrity . . . becoming a co-creature in many Christian ways.

Her background profession of management in computer graphics & behavioral science plus her growing spirituality made her much spontaneously creative in almost all endeavor of life . . . . she mentioned that being the daughter of an internationally renowned bronze sculptor, painter and art educator Ben-hur G. Villanueva, doesn’t mean one is expected to be in such field - not all her seven siblings were into Art, one a banker, a psychologist, another telecom manager, hotel officer, all knows how to paint and contributes bright artistic ideas but eventually it just happened - ripe skills developed into a masterpiece.

All her entries to the recent Annual Asia Pacific Festival & Trade Show held at the Convention Center of Star Dust Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada last September 17 & 18 depicts the beauty and magnificence of God’s goodness, such the sunset of Tam-Awan, Baguio, the brilliance of La Union Beach, the serenity of Mindoro Waves and many more . . . Together with her family, who were also participants her sister Joyette (oil & water color paintings), her brother-in-law Roy Camacho (California based animator, oil paintings), her four-year old nephew, Miggy (pastel paintings), her twin Marvie (acrylic paintings), her nephews Cyril Dwight & Francis Gavreel (pastel and ink), her Dad Ben-Hur & brother Bumbo (bronze sculptures) . . . above all she attributes everything to the Master’s touch - Our Creator, wherein for her all is His plan and the gratitude within for the gift . . . presently, Marinette A. Villanueva, what others may not know her real name is on several arrangements with her works (and family’s as well) to be viewed in art galleries in Los Angeles & Beverly Hills and nearby San Diego & San Francisco likewise through several Friends possibly in Washington DC, Chicago and Texas . . . . What can we say but cheers & best salutes to our Filipino Artists not only in the USA but all over the world? # via NORDIS
