Yaranon recalls loaned workers |

To identify lots for public use BAGUIO CITY (Sept. 25) — Mayor Braulio Yaranon last week recalled city-paid employees assigned at the A. O. 504 Clearing Committee and the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) regional office here to help in the city’s program to identify lots for public needs. In a letter to DENR-CAR regional executive director Samuel Peñafiel, the mayor asked for the release said employees starting on Monday. The employees were asked to report to the city engineer’s office where they will be absorbed administratively. The AO 504 and CENRO staff members will however work in coordination with the city assessor’s office in performing the task. The 12 employees face a lull in their tasks after the implementation of the six-month suspension in the processing of town site sales applications (TSA) on September 8. The mayor said they could use the time instead to help the city in its on-going project of identifying public lots for city and barangay needs for purposes of reserving the same also in line with the thrust to improve the processing of public land applications in the city. The mayor said the land identification project will require the mobilization of all available staff members to conduct the surveys needed to facilitate the activities. The move stemmed from the agreement between the city government and the DENR to solve the problem on the indiscriminate award of public lands in the city which has affected even the government’s lot needs. He issued Administrative Order No. 156 where he constituted a team to finalize the list of lots being identified by the City Land Needs Identification Committee composed of the different city departments.
