Intensify dengue fight – Mayor tells health office

BAGUIO CITY (Sept. 4) — Baguio Mayor Braulio D. Yaranon last week asked the city health office to intensify measures to prevent the spread of dengue in the city as he assured the public that there is no let-up in the campaign.

As this developed, City Health Officer Dr. Florence Reyes said fogging operations are now implemented in schools and barangays considered high-risk areas. She urged the public to familiarize with the preventive measures to avert contracting the disease. Likewise, she wants to popularize the symptoms and cure of dengue to ensure proper treatment of patients.

Health officials also encourage the public to use mosquito nets and insect repellants and to rid the surroundings of empty bottles, cans, tires vases and others.
