EDNCP marks 17th convention

BAGUIO CITY (Feb. 25) — The Episcopal Diocese of North Central Philippines (EDNCP) this week held its 17th Diocesan Convention with at least 180 delegates from six deaneries in the provinces of La Union, Zambales, Pangasinan, Benguet, and Baguio City, from Feb. 22-25.

The convention is the highest policy making body of the diocese. Reports from commissions and diocesan organizations are presented in this yearly event, including the Bishop’s Address. The EDNCP is on its 17th year as an independent diocese.

“The first two days consisted of Bible studies and workshops on these Biblical topics, including this year’s theme”, said The Very Rev. David Tabo-oy, Cathedral of the Resurrection Rector. Fr. Tabo-oy is also the secretary of the convention’s new term. The Rt. Rev. Joel Pachao is the chairperson, Fr. Efren Supanga the registrar, and Rose Batane the treasurer.

The convention also aims to improve on its ministry and administration among its deaneries.

Five delegates from the Chubu Diocese in Nagoya, Japan attended the convention.

“Cross-cultural partnership and sharing is encouraged among partner dioceses”, Tabo-oy said. Last November, Bishop Pachao was also in Japan for a similar event.

The convention was held at the EDNCP Compound in Baguio City. # Abi Taguba Bengwayan for NORDIS
