NPA belies any role in Abra warlordism

BAGUIO CITY (Jan. 27) — The alleged plot to kill the Luna’s by certain elements in the 41st IB, PA, as allegedly ordered by Lt. Col. Noel Mislang, at the behest supposedly of Governor Valera, does not have anything to do with the revolutionary movement in Abra and elsewhere. If indeed the allegations of Corporals Rosqueta and Barcelona are true, this only proves that like the PNP and other fascist institutions, the AFP can never be instruments against warlordism, a provincial command of the New People’s Army clarified in a statement lately.

The CPP-NPA-CPDF in Abra is consistent in its position and actions against warlordism in Abra, including the drive against the existence of the so-called Private Armed Groups (PAGs), the Agustin Begnalen Command of the New People’s Army (ABC-NPA) based in Abra said in a statement it e-mailed to the press on Jan. 24. Ssimilar statements have been released the the ABC-NPA in the past condemning warlordism.

The red fighters also claim that concrete actions have been undertaken, especially in areas where red political power exists.

“The attempts of certain groups such as the PNP, AFP, and some warlords, to link the CPP-NPA-CPDF-Abra to Governor Valera, and now to the Luna’s, is a self-serving ploy to cover-up their misdeeds, confuse the people, and drag the good name of the revolutionary movement into the evil world of warlordism,” the ABC-NPA statement reads.

“While relying mainly on the democratic classes of the workers, peasants, petty-bourgeoisie and the national bourgeiosie, the revolutionary movement builds the widest possible revolutionary unity for its tactical goals, in the context of long-term programs,” the statement signed by Ka Diego Wadagan, ABC-NPA spokesperson, said.

Wadagan explained that tactical unities may be forged with certain groups and individuals who are directly or indirectly supporting the revolutionary movement.” These unities, he said, are mostly informal and discrete saying that in some cases, informal tactical alliances are formed because of common positions on certain issues, even without coming to a formal agreement.

But Wadagan firmly said that the revolutionary movement will not seek tactical unities with rabid counter-revolutionaries, and those that have been sentenced with capital punishment by the People’s Court.

The CPP-NPA-CPDF are underground organizations that do not participate in bourgeois electoral exercises. Legitimate and legal organizations who wish to advance the people’s interests through bourgeois elections join such exercises. The CPP-NPA-CPDF-Abra belied reports that it was campaigning during the past elections and clarified that no officer and member of the NPA are serving in the PAGs of the warlords. # Via NORDIS
