Supreme Court Justices who voted against the people

In a 246-page ruling penned by Associate Justice Artemio V. Panganiban, the high court ruled that the mining law does not contravene the Philippine Constitution. Others who voted for the reversal are Chief Justice Hilario G. Davide, Jr.; Associate Justices Reynato S. Puno, Leonardo A. Quisumbing; Angelina S. Gutierrez; Alicia A. Martinez; Renato C. Corona; Dante O. Tinga; Minica C. Nazario and Cancio Garcia.

Those who decided against it are Associate Justices Ynares Santiago; Antonio T. Carpio; Conchita C. Morales; and Romeo J. Callejo. In January, Davide, Quisumbing and Puno joined Morales, Carpio, Corona, Callejo and Tinga in ruling against the FTAA of Western Mining Corporation – Philippines.#
