Baguio health board reorganized
BAGUIO CITY (Oct.30) — Two important bodies were reorganized last week to make them more responsive to the needs of the times.
Before leaving the country on official business Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. issued Administrative Order No. 139 reconstituting the membership of the local health board to include newly accredited non-government organizations.
The board is now composed of the city mayor as the chair; city health officer as vice chair; and with the chairman of the city council committee on health, representative of the Department of Health Cordillera and the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines Baguio-Benguet chapter as the non-government organization representative to the board.
The health board is tasked to propose to the city council annual budgetary allocations for the operation and maintenance of health facilities and services within the city; serve as an advisory committee to the city council on health matters such as the necessity for and application of local appropriations for public health purposes; advise and recommend policies when necessary to the Health Services office and its committees on personnel selection and promotion, bids and awards, grievance and complaints, personnel discipline, budget review, operations review and other committees in accordance with technical and administrative standards of the DOH and other concerned agencies as may be applicable; and act as the coordinating team for health, harmonizing all health-related activities. # Aileen P.
